So usually I try to make something to take when I’m going to a shower. Sometimes I get really creative and actually make the entire gift and sometimes I only have enough creative juices to make the card. Well this gift was kinda somewhere in between. Sometimes you want to give a practical gift (like kitchen stuff) but don’t want to give up on making it unique. That’s why I love putting together themed gift baskets.
I put together a Baking Gift Basket for a friend’s bridal shower last weekend. The theme formed when I found a neat cookbook with muffin recipes. So I grabbed some muffin baking essentials, a nice big bowl for the basket and some pretty packaging and *POOF* a spiffy gift!
It took less than 30 min to put it all together. I spent more time shopping for the items than I did putting it together. So next time your running short on creative juices (or time) try making your own theme gift basket.
We went and saw Transformers- Rise of the Fallen this week and after seeing all those cars, planes, etc change into big honking robots that then proceeded to bash, smash and blow up each other, I started to wonder what our family car would transform into. I mean if it was actually a alien, instead of just looking like one. You see I currently drive a green box, ie a Honda Element, and while a great car for a young couple without any kids, we have found a few of its features less cool since the arrival of Capt. C.
It would definitely have to be an Autobot because I wouldn’t let my kiddos ride in a evil car. Hmm it would need a name, maybe something like Rubik. Oh come on, that’s funny. It’s a square car! Well I thought it was a clever name. Maybe then it would transform like a Rubik’s cube. I’m so smart, I should call up the producer so he can add that to the next movie.
Or maybe it could be called Wind-tunnel, because that’s what forms if you open the doors all the way on both sides. Great for easy loading but not so much when a good breeze blows through and takes all your pieces of mail, grocery lists and trash right out of the car and all over the driveway. ”I didn’t want to litter but Wind-tunnel made me do it!”
Maybe it would just transform into a new car with more seating, full size back doors so its easier to load kiddos into their car seats and have air vents for the back seats. But then its name would probably be Mini, with a last name Van and I’m just not sure if I’m ready to take that leap yet.
I’ve figured I’d share my new hair do for all my friends and family that haven’t seen it in person. I went to my hairdresser and just said do something nice and easy to take care off. I love what she did with it! Then I decided to try coloring it. I went with a auburn color that was pretty close to my natural color. I forgot how much I like deep red hair. Next time I will probably go with a more intense red color. So here’s my new summer look…
A friend loaned us one of these jumper things that her son had out grown. Capt. C has a love/hate relationship with it. Sometimes you put him in it and he looks so happy and bounces his little heart out and sometimes you put him in it and he looks like he is trying to bounce for his freedom with sheer determination on his face. A few times he has just straight up cried and other times he bounces until he just passes out.
And other times you can’t tell what he’s thinking…
Is he enjoying it or is he plotting his escape? Oh and apparently his bottom lip is hiding. It must be camera shy, either that or tasty. And while pictures are a great way to share these moments, I thought this one was worth getting a little video of too!
So my smallest just used the doggie door to go outside and play...barefoot. Did I mention we have a sticker problem in our yard? Poor feet!about 8 hours agofrom TweetDeck
