It Finally Happened

About a month ago it finally happened!  What happened you ask?  Well Sir Q finally took a interest in his brother.  Yup he finally acknowledged that his brother does indeed exist and that there is another little person living in the house.  I think we have progressed well considering that for several months when asked where Capt. C was he would just say “No Capt. C” and look around the room as if he didn’t see him.  The change of heart came shortly after Capt C. starting crawling and pulling up, which he figured out quite quickly once he gave up on trying to fly.

I guess its hard to ignore something that keeps crawling to you and then tries to climb you.  I was pretty excited to see them start interacting and breathed a sigh of relief that we finally reached this hurdle.  And then I realized that this means a whole new set of issues…now not only does Capt. C crawl around get get into everything, his brother helps him.  There are already toy snatching issues and Sir Q sharing things he shouldn’t.  The big one that I’ve had to be careful of is Sir Q picking up Capt C.  They both seem to enjoy this game, that is until someone squirms or someone else get tired and then there’s a thunk and cry and a mom saying “hugging is nice but leave him on the floor!”  I’m sure every little brother has been not so gently carted around by his older siblings and that over all I should be happy they are interacting, but I find myself wondering why I thought it was a bad thing that they ignored each other before.

A Little Peek- Cause It’s A Busy Week

I’ve been working on a new digital kit.  Its taking me some extra time to get it all done because I have too many ideas floating around in my head and they keep trying to take me off in different directions.  Not to mention I’m going out of town this weekend, which means traveling with two little kiddos and lots to do to get ready.

This new kit is inspired by one of my hubby’s favorite movies (hint, the sequel just came out this summer) and its full of grunge and metal.  I should have it finished up by late next week so keep your eyes peeled.

Sneak Peek

A Little Linky Love

I thought I’d share a few more blogs/sites that I try to keep up with, just in case you find yourself in need of a way to pass the time.  Some are crafty, some geeky and some are just fun.

The first one is a site that hubby always knows when I’m reading something on it. I can’t ever read one of her posts without giggling out loud.  I usually end up reading them out loud to hubby just so he can know why I just spit coke all over the screen.  The Creative Junkie is a blog written by a mom with two girls and a hilarious take on life.  But before you check it out, you just might want to take a potty break. =P Just saying, better to be safe than to have to steam clean your desk chair.

So now that we are in a giggling mood, let’s head on over to The Domestic Scientist.  Here you will find a dose of geekiness, craftiness and some funny parenting stories.  I love that she dreams about card games and makes things like a giant rice krispie d20 and gamer valentine’s.

A similar site I found recently is A Gamer’s Wife.  She writes about her life being married to a game designer and she also makes some really great free crochet patterns inspired by geeky goodness.  I still haven’t learned how to crochet but every time she comes up with a new pattern I write it down on my list of things I want to learn to make.

So that’s what I get distracted by when I start surfing the web instead of working.  Hope you enjoyed killing some time with me, now get back to work! =P

Quick Creations

So let’s say that you love the look of scrapbook pages but just don’t have the time to make something yourself.  Well then I’m here to save the day!  I released these Quick Creations to help save you from sending out generic invitations and to spruce up your scrapbooks quick and easy.  They are all made with my Lil’ Adventures Series (which is also in the FS shop) and will help you get a great project done in minutes. They are available individually or in the bundles shown.

Lil' Adventure Quick Pages

The scrapbook pages are 12×12 but could easily be reduced to print at 8×8 on you home printer.

Lil' Adventures Quick Cards

The cards are 5×7 and would make great announcements or invitations.

Here’s an example of a finished card.

Just add your photos and type some witty words and TADA you have a great project that looks like you spent a bunch of time on it!
